Position Summary
The Food Runner plays an important role in the dining experience. They are mobile personal communication agents from the kitchen to the front of the house. Food Runners are responsible for running fresh, hot food to the guest. Food Runners also help expedite food from the kitchen to the properly seated guest to an assigned table. Our Food Runners are an important part of a cohesive team. They have an eye for detail making sure that each dish that is delivered from the kitchen to a table is to the specification set forth by the culinary team. This role reports to the General Manager with open lines of communication with the chef and kitchen team.
Job Duties
- Take food from the kitchen and expo line to guests in the dining room and bar.
- Deliver food from the kitchen to a specific guest or specific seat in the dining room or bar seat.
- Be able to communicate ingredients of a dish to specification to avoid adverse scenarios that can happen. I.e. food allergies
- Verbally announcing and describing dishes in an appealing manner upon delivery.
- Ensure that dishes that leave the kitchen are clean in appearance and visually appealing.
- Help maintain a clean and safe restaurant environment.
- Recognize and welcome regular guests by name and cater to their preferences to create a welcoming environment.
- Follow all side work as designated by management.
- Adhere to sanitation and safety policies provided by management.
- Supports the food line by setting up and replenishing condiments on the hot line.
- Assist in busser duties when needed to.
- Cleaning all areas of the restaurant operation, not limited to just the dining area. May include bathroom and back of house when needed.
- Easily carry multiple dishes of different sizes and weight at the same time in a manner that looks stress free.
- Other duties as assigned
