You will also help cultivate a culture that is focused on ensuring that guests, consumers, and internal stakeholders have a fantastic experience when interacting with our squads.Identity Engineering delivers Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) capabilities across The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) including but not limited to : D , Hulu, ESPN , and Parks. Identity Engineering squads build and run high-traffic and globally replicated systems which form an integral and visible part of every consumer’s journey at Disney properties.ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of client SDKs, stateful microservices, and lambdas in a multi-region cloud environment.Promote and support Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and Scrumban by leading regular ceremonies such as stand-up, retrospectives and sprint planning.Mentor engineering leaders and their squad members to help them improve their technical ability and build their profile within and outside of the organization.Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA, Operations, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and articulate technical decisions and outcomes.Required SkillsFamiliarity with at least one of the following Java Virtual Machine (JVM) languages : Java, Scala, or Kotlin.Familiarity with at least one of the following cloud providers : Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Compute (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.Desirable SkillsFamiliarity with the Scala programming language and popular functional frameworks such as : Cats, Cats Effect, ZIO, and http4s.Familiarity with both object-oriented programming (OOP) and functional programming (FP) best practices.Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Kubernetes, Terraform, and infrastructure as code (IaC) best practices.Required Education & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and / or equivalent work experience.Minimum of 10 years related work experience.About Disney StreamingThis position is with Disney Streaming Technology LLC, which is part of a business we call Disney Entertainment.Disney Streaming Technology LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
