The Company develops and manufactures acellular tissues to treat a wide range of diseases, injuries, and chronic conditions. Humacyte’s initial opportunity, a portfolio of Acellular Tissue Engineered Vessel (ATEVs), is currently approved for use in vascular trauma repair and is in late-stage clinical trials targeting multiple other applications including AV access for hemodialysis and peripheral arterial disease. Preclinical development is also underway in coronary artery bypass grafts, pediatric heart surgery, treatment of type 1 diabetes, and multiple novel cell and tissue applications. JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated Intern majoring in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical or other related Engineering to support internal Automation projects. This internship will provide hands-on experience in biomedical manufacturing systems and offer exposure to manufacturing processes in a regulated facility. Projects can include developing, building, and configuring equipment to increase access and control of offline production systems; planning, coordinating, and documenting building automation system control replacement; and improving and organizing internal information systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
With the guidance and instruction of other the Automation Engineering Team:
- Determine the preferred method to communicate an offline Rockwell with the existing Automation Process Network
- Develop a proof of concept and test communications
- Analyse the existing Building Automation System and coordinate a project time line that aligns with production activities providing opportunities to replace Johnson Controls with Siemens Control system.
- Sort and organize existing information system documentation.
- Other Duties as assigned.
- Background in Biomedical/Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- Familiarity with Control Systems (Rockwell AB, Emerson DeltaV, Aveva PI, Siemens Desigo, Johnson Controls)
- Ability to make well-informed, independent judgements
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes
- Ability to effectively communicate and work across functional groups within an organization
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possess a positive roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and optimistic outlook.
- Strong ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with fluctuating priorities and demonstrated ability to collaborate within cross functional teams.
