Humacyte is seeking a Senior Manager, Supply Chain & Demand Planning, to join our rapidly growing organization. This is a pivotal role in an early-stage commercial company, and will be accountable for developing the demand plan and ensuring that raw materials and finished goods receipt plans are developed and executed to optimize the inventory availability and working capital productivity. The selected leader will collaborate with finance, product development, and manufacturing to identify inventory trends and constraints. The leader will also be engaged in the development of supplier management programs to affect availability as well as total cost efficiencies. This leader will work with external and internal and partners to determine areas of risk or opportunity in the supply horizon.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Establish stability and predictability in weekly and monthly demand plans
- Drive accountability in forecasting processes: Document and track major assumptions in all Demand Consensus routines
- Ensure the development and execution of purchase orders leveraging forecast, open orders, supply landscape and trend analysis
- Develop and execute purchase order flows in order to optimize availability working capital, and cost productivity
- Integrate demand changes by collaborating with internal partners in the change management process
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure best practices are observed according to the responsible purchasing practice guidelines and ensuring optimal organizational effectiveness through influencing and negotiation skills
- Work to seek optimal balance between total product costs/terms, lead time, order minimums, standard packs and other factors while maintaining adequate merchandise quality, quantity and specification requirements
- Lead supplier collaboration meetings and advise internal business partners on issues dealing with minimums and inventory
- Identify inventory trends and make suggestions to prioritize, expedite or re-schedule open supplier purchase orders
- Leverage current demand-planning systems to create the best statistical forecast possible using established processes
- Proactively partner with product development and manufacturing to report product and material availability issues
- Manage statistical forecast exceptions by utilizing demand-planning exception reports to identify and fix potential issues
- Lead supply chain improvement projects and execute supply chain policies/strategies set by senior leadership
- Ensure inventory levels are reviewed regularly and ensure that optimum inventory level of raw materials is available by establishing safety stock/replenishment method parameters
- Partner with Finance to understand budgets and financial forecast processes to ensure expenses come in on budget
- Provide all aspects of personnel management for team of Supply and Demand planners including recruitment of appropriate team members; determining work assignments; performance management; development and coaching of team members; engagement and retention
- Other duties, as assigned
- MBA or a Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred
- 7 years of work experience in a demand, merchandise, capacity, or supply planning environment, preferably in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry
- C.P.M. or A.P.P. desirable
- Experience in leading and developing a small team preferred
- Demonstrated experience with MRP, large scale ERP, or automated planning systems
- Formal training in current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and Sarbanes/Oxley (SOX) requirements
- Highly proficient in Excel-based modelling
- Motivated and organized critical thinker with solid interpersonal and business communication skills.
