What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Human Bees?
Work Schedule:
Monday – Saturday
Start time: 10 PM
Position Responsibilities:
Operating food manufacturing machines, packaging, labeling, and other machinery.
Learning all aspects of the machine and line to troubleshoot when necessary.
Communicating with the Team Lead and maintenance department regarding any issues with the line or machine.
Utilizing productivity software to track machine efficiency and report issues.
Collaborating with fellow line employees to ensure products are being produced efficiently, accurately, and with the highest quality standards.
Learning and executing the start-up and shut-down of the line and providing support during production runs.
Documenting production runs, including quantities produced, ingredient lot numbers, quantities used, label checks, and weight verification.
Performing duties in accordance with food safety, quality, and legality guidelines, including but not limited to GMPs, Glass Policy, QA Policy, Sanitation Policy, HACCP, etc. Following these policies ensures the production of high-quality products for customers and consumers.
Following all safety procedures, participating in safety training, and maintaining the safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and PPE. Reporting any injuries, accidents, or unsafe conditions immediately to a supervisor.
Job Requirements:
Understanding of manufacturing processes, production lines, and equipment.
2+ years of mechanical operating manufacturing experience.
Food industry experience is a plus.
Mechanical aptitude to operate manufacturing equipment.
Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
Bilingual; fluency in another language besides English is a plus.
Exposure to food processing systems, including high-speed production lines.
Availability to work flexible hours as required.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to standing for prolonged periods. The employee is frequently required to use manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination when working with products, computers, or machinery. The employee may need to assist and support up to 30+ pounds with varying amounts of assistance as needed. The employee is required to have corrected vision and hearing within a normal range and the ability to operate equipment if required. The employee may be exposed to moving and non-moving mechanical parts and may need to work in cold conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
