We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead continuous improvement initiatives, optimize production processes, and ensure operational excellence within a high-volume plastics manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Lean Manufacturing methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste across all workstations.
- Identify and resolve scrap-related issues to optimize production yield and minimize downtime.
- Maintain a standardized component list to support secondary equipment planning and future expansion.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to justify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure all new equipment meets or exceeds safety and regulatory standards while maintaining plant specifications.
- Assist in the development and documentation of process workflows, work cell layouts, and projects involving post-mold equipment.
- Manage project budgets, control costs, and oversee the successful execution of capital investments.
- Lead equipment installation and provide training for production personnel on setup and operation.
- Continuously monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Associate degree in Engineering or a related field (or equivalent technical training).
- Five to seven years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within plastics injection molding.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and quality management systems.
- Experience in automotive supply chain with knowledge of Just-in-Time (JIT) production and industry quality standards.
- Ability to read tooling prints, interpret technical instructions, and solve complex production challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Plastic Injection Molding processes and automation.
- Previous leadership experience in high-volume automotive manufacturing.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to lift and move 35 lbs or more as part of regular job duties.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
