TITLE
Fiscal Technician
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associate’s Degree in Accounting, preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
2. Two years of work experience, with emphasis in the areas of payroll and fringe benefits management, preferred.
3. Computer accounting knowledge and/or experience required.
4. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.
5. Knowledge of accepted accounting practices, including, but not limited to, preparing and processing payroll and tax reports.
6. Experience with federal/state human services fiscal programming, preferred.
7. Experience in general ledger functions preferred.
8. Must be sympathetic to the goals of a Community Action Agency.
9. Must successfully pass all agency-required background checks.
WAGE
$23.00/hour plus agency fringe benefits
Fringe benefits include, but are not limited to, 4-day work week, health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, and 11 paid holidays per year.

SCHEDULE
Monday through Wednesday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Flexibility in schedule may be required

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Biweekly processing of employee payroll and completion of all required payroll reports.
2. Coordination of all employee fringe benefits offered by the agency, including, but not limited to, health insurance, life/disability, retirement, workman’s compensation, and voluntary employee insurances, including COBRA.
3. Maintain current knowledge of computerized accounting systems and spreadsheet applications.
4. Ability to think through processes, problem solve and provide recommendations.
5. Other accounting duties, as assigned.
