The Finance Supervisor provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program. The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-ready technical and basic skills (academic) training and job placement assistance to program eligible youth ages 16-24.
Summary of Duties :
Responsible for managing the accounting / finance functions of Center.
Significant Responsibilities :
- Oversees staff members assigned to this department. Ensures staff members have adequate training to complete key areas of responsibilities.
- Coordinates staff meetings.
- Has a working knowledge of all Corporate financial policies and procedures.
- Provides management with monthly analysis of actual versus budgeted costs. Establishes system to ensure availability of funds prior to the expenditure of funds.
- Reviews and audits financial accounts and reports on a timely basis.
- Establishes system(s) to ensure all liabilities and obligations of the center are reported accurately each month.
- Reviews, investigates and explains any unusual fluctuations in the Center’s costs.
- Monitors budget and related areas for assigned department and maintains spending limits as applicable.
