GENERAL FUNCTION
Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director/Coordinator, the Program Instructor I will be primarily responsible for providing quality leadership and supervision and ensuring the safety of those enrolled in the Mini Marathon or other running program, while maintaining a safe, non-competitive environment for YMCA members.
KNOW HOW
Coaching experience is preferred.
A minimum of 18 years of age.
Knowledge of basic exercise science and fitness leadership is preferred.
Ability to successfully instruct/demonstrate guidelines for long distance running and building endurance in a safe manner.
Verbally provide clear concise directions and monitor participants for safety
Maintain current certifications in CPR AED, First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention, New Employee Orientation and other wellness department and designated Branch training, or the ability to obtain within 60-90 days of employment.
