Director of Business Systems
An Atlanta-based multifamily property management company is looking for a Director of Business Systems to join its Business Systems department. The Director of Business Systems is responsible for managing the onboarding and offboarding of technologies throughout the lifecycle of a multifamily asset, from acquisition to disposition. This individual will oversee the integration, utilization, and optimization of key systems to ensure that our technology is best serving our residents, clients, and corporate departments. Additionally, the Director of Business Systems will manage system capabilities, expenses, and continually review and improve the technology landscape to support operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be highly knowledgeable in property management systems, including Yardi, Yardi CRM IQ, LRO, Utility Billing, RealPage Budgeting, and Yardi build-outs. This role requires strong organizational skills, an eye for technological advancements, and the ability to manage cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders and technology vendors. This individual is a strong leader, a strategic thinker, and someone who is passionate about leveraging business systems to achieve operational success. This role will report directly to the Executive Vice President.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the onboarding of technologies at the point of asset acquisition, ensuring proper integration of systems such as Yardi, Yardi CRM IQ, LRO, Utility Billing, and RealPage Budgeting.
- Manage the offboarding process when assets are offboarded or sold, ensuring smooth data migration, system disconnection, and appropriate transfer of technology.
- Lead the integration of key systems across departments (leasing, accounting, maintenance, etc.) to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Regularly assess the functionality and effectiveness of existing systems, identifying areas for improvement or upgrades.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure seamless system integrations and technology adoption.
- Conduct frequent reviews of current technologies to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Focus on system capabilities and technological advancements that can improve service delivery, enhance the resident experience, and reduce operating costs.
- Manage technology-related expenses by evaluating existing contracts, negotiating with vendors, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Work closely with property management teams, IT, accounting, and other departments to ensure technology solutions meet organizational needs.
- Collaborate with the training department to ensure all teams are proficient in using the technology systems effectively.
- Act as the primary point of contact for technology-related questions or issues.
- Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met and address any issues related to system performance or customer support.
- Evaluate new technologies and vendor solutions to ensure the company remains competitive in the property management industry.
- Generate reports on system performance, technology utilization, and expenses for senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, industry standards, and company policies related to technology and data management.
Skills/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of Yardi administration experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly develop and articulate strategy and business plans throughout the organization.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess the effectiveness of processes and the ability to create and define new processes if needed.
- Experience in Yardi, Yardi CRM IQ, Real Page Budgeting, Utility Billing Management software, and LRO implementation and disposition required.
