Description
The objective of this position is to protect and safeguard customers, visitors, employees, facilities and property through patrolling, monitoring, observation and exercising an appropriate level of response to threatening situations or conditions at the Clinton Street Location or other HRA locations as assigned.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (others may be assigned based upon program needs):
- Circulate among visitors, customers and employees to preserve order and protect persons and property.
- Assist staff in crisis management intervention with visitors and/or customers.
- Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of hazards, intrusion and ensure security of windows and doors.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors and customers and other person to guard against personal harm and property damage.
- Warn persons of rule infractions or violations and evict violators from the premises when necessary.
- Maintain contact with and call police, fire or other emergency departments in cases of fire, injuries or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Investigate disturbances and unusual or suspicious events.
- Monitor the parking lot and direct or escort customers, visitors or staff to transportation.
- Operate and monitor detecting devices to screen individuals or to protect persons and property.
- Perform incidental administrative duties such as writing reports of activities and irregularities, answers telephone calls, take messages, answering questions, secure the building at the end of the work day.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of license security training course and security officer license or is eligible to receive security officer license.
- One year experience as a security guard, law enforcement officer or related occupation
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience 1-2 years of related experience
- Must have legal right to work in the Unites States of America
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to travel as required
- Must be physically and psychologically fit, able to successfully pass any required company evaluations and pass an extensive background check
- Must have a cell phone capable of sending location/taking pictures/downloading applications

- Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
- Ability to lift up to thirty (30) pounds.
