What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Manager position at Human Resources Center of Edgar and Clark Counties?
The Residential Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the 24-hour CILA. This includes supervising house staff in the provision of care, training, and support of the residents in the home setting as directed by their Person-Centered Plan. The Residential Manager shall coordinate staff scheduling, routine house and van safety and maintenance, purchases, and individual activity scheduling. The Residential Manager shall insure that the operation of the residential facility meets all Rule 115 Guidelines for residential operation. The residential manager is required to work at least 2 evening shifts per week and provide coverage for additional shifts if needed. Residential Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the residential program including shopping, assisting with banking, tax filing, medical appointments for individuals in a residential program ,gathering completed outcome documentation and relaying any changes to residential staff, preparing residential DSP work schedules and ensuring the home remains clean (including arranging for quarterly deep cleaning).

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Residential DSP’s
DUTIES:
1. Provides training/assistance in activities of daily living for individuals participating in residential programs including but not limited to banking, budgeting, taxes, medical appointments, self-advocacy, community inclusion, recreational activities, shopping, home maintenance/cleaning, laundry and outcomes.
2. Adjust job site location and job duties to meet the needs of individuals
3. Ability to adjust scheduled hours
4. Provides 1:1 activities for individuals receiving residential, I-CILA and agency-based PSW services as scheduled
5. Ensures weekly shopping for Austin House is completed
6. Completes monthly safety inspections for Austin House
7. Prepares monthly residential DSP work schedules and arranges for coverage of open shifts and maintains an on-call residential schedule
8. Facilitates on-going cleaning schedule for Austin House and ensures quarterly deep cleaning is completed
9. Other duties as assigned
- Responsible for working at least 2 evening shifts per week and providing additional coverage as needed
- Completes staff evaluations
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in human services field
2. One-year full-time experience in a supervisory position in a residential facility, sheltered workshop, or CDS for the developmentally disabled or related field.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to pass background checks.
2. Demonstrated ability to organize and manage a household.
3. Demonstrated ability to work positively and constructively with agency personnel, residents, their families, and the community.
4. Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
5. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
6. Knowledge of the habilitation process and principles of behavior management, normalization, and community integration.
7. Demonstrated ability to work within the agency structure and program guidelines and to accept agency supervision.
8. Ability to pass basic First Aid and CPR certification training and CPI.
9. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
10. Demonstrated willingness to learn treatment program implementation and documentation.
11. Demonstrated attitude of patience, tolerance, and flexibility.
12. Current DSP or ability to pass
13. High school diploma or GED equivalent
PAY GRADE LEVEL: VI - VIII
EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT STATUS: non-exempt
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
