What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Support Aide position at Human Resources Center of Edgar and Clark Counties?
RATIONALE: Assure a safe, clean, healthy environment of the group home. Basic housekeeping and home management. Assist residents as needed in the completion of daily living skills. Assist with completion of Individual Program Plans, transportation, medications, and appointments when applicable.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Twenty-one years of age or older.
2. Good physical and mental health.
3. Ability to pass background check.
4. Experience working with special populations.
5. Demonstrated ability to organize and manage a household.
6. Demonstrated ability to work within agency structure and program guidelines and to accept agency supervision.
7. Demonstrated ability to work positively and constructively with residents, their families, and the community.
8. Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
9. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
10. Demonstrated willingness to learn written treatment program implementation and documentation.
11. Demonstrated attitude of patience, tolerance, and flexibility.
12. Ability to pass basic First Aid and CPR training.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Lift and carry up to 30 pounds, 41-75% of the time.
2. Assist in lifting and transferring an individual from lying to sitting, sitting to standing, and standing to sitting.
3. Ability to push, pull, turn, stoop, kneel, reach, and bend.
4. Ability to stand for at least two hours at a time.
5. Talking 76-100% of the time.
6. Hearing for ordinary conversation 76-100% of the time.
7. Visual acuity for 20” or less, 76-100% of the time.
