What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rest Area Assistant Supervisor position at Human Resources Center of Edgar and Clark Counties?
The general responsibilities of the Rest Area Assistant Supervisor are in the areas of: Maintenance of the designated building and grounds area to a degree of cleanliness acceptable to the Human Resources Center and per governmental specifications; training, scheduling, and supervision of personnel as assigned; recording the performance levels of assigned workers, maintaining status charts, detailing the completeness of assignments, submitting billing information and serving as the point of contact with the state and contractors in the absence of the Rest Area Supervisor. The Assistant Supervisor shall be able to work any shift including weekends and holidays.
BASIC DUTIES:
1. Routine cleaning inside of the building as detailed on a performance/contractual
checklist.
2. Cleaning outside of building and grounds as detailed on performance/contractual checklist.
3. Raising/lowering of flags as state specified.
4. Disposing of all refuse, per specifications.
5. Oversees turf cutting/trimming and other vegetation and assists in the performance of as needed, per specifications.
6. Manages/supervises personnel effectively and efficiently in the absence of the Rest Area Supervisor completing all required reports accurately and in a timely manner.
7. Maintaining and filling shift assignments, and arranging for back-up personnel as required.
8. Training of all other personnel and follow-ups as needed.
Remains on duty or filling-in for absent personnel until relieved.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Knowledge of janitorial cleaning processes
2. Experience with persons with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities.
3. Ability to work independently.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
1. Ability to pass pre-employment background checks, with no Disqualifying Convictions as listed in the Health Care Worker Background check act or possessing a waiver of such conviction from in accordance with that act.
2. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
3. High School diploma or equivalent or functional literacy.
4. Ability to reliably report to work as scheduled.
5. DSP Certification or ability to obtain
6. Current First Aid/CPR or ability to obtain
7. Driver’s license and approval to drive HRC vehicles
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Stand or Walk up to 80% of the time.
