Chief Technology Officer and Division Director
The Human Resources Research Organization (HumRRO) is a non-profit leader in applied research, evaluation, and analytics in the arenas of assessment for employment, student, military, and professional credentialing and licensing. We work with federal and state government agencies, private sector organizations, and professional associations.
HumRRO is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead a division responsible for all our technology functions. The CTO is a member of the HumRRO Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for all company technology and technological resources associated with both our internal and client-facing systems. In partnership with HumRRO's technology managers, the CTO will maintain and advance HumRRO's strategic technology vision as well as the corporate strategies designed to deliver on that vision. The CTO is responsible for developing the technology budget including planning for infrastructure investment, operations and maintenance, and Internal Research and Development (IR&D). They remain well informed of emerging technology trends and the relevant marketplace and they consider these in anticipating the future technology-related needs of the organization and our clients.
The CTO works with the President and other corporate officers to set company policy and corporate goals, to ensure HumRRO's business health, and to carry out strategic plans. The CTO also works closely with the President on all technology matters, keeping the President informed while actively advising on decisions and actions to be taken.
Since HumRRO works in multiple areas including federal, state, and private sectors, the CTO remains current with sector-specific technical requirements and manages the fidelity of those unique requirements on issues such as security/compliance (e.g., NIST 800/ISO 27001/DFAR/CMMC), intellectual property (IP), system infrastructure, accessibility, continuity of operations (COOP) and disaster recovery, software development processes and cycles, and system interoperability.
The CTO reports to the President and supervises the managers of the software engineering, information technology, quality assurance, and help desk groups.
Qualified candidates must have a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field, plus a minimum of 15 years' experience working in leadership roles related to technology. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Previous experience as a CTO or an equivalent position, although not required, is a plus.
The position is located in the HumRRO Alexandria, VA headquarters office.
The typical salary for this role is $225,000 to $275,000. Specific salary offers are based on candidate qualifications and experience.
