MKR Laundry Attendant II
Primary Responsibilities: Press all clothing including staff uniforms, guest’s clothing, and outside laundry contracts. Special request from resort, staging of clothing, hang uniforms. Unload and load dryers when needed. Run sheets and table cloths, napkins, pillow slips and other items through ironers. Send terry towels through terry folder or fold by hand. Fold bedspreads, blankets, and robes. Complete all laundry orders for food and beverage, spa, fitness and golf facilities.
Essential Duties:
Assist in sorting laundry and spot treating.
Load and unload dryers.
Operate all pressing equipment; ironers and steam tunnel.
Operate terry folders or fold by hand.
Read care labels to properly treat and clean clothing, uniforms and linen.
Complete laundry orders for food and beverage, spa, fitness and golf facilities.
Complete paperwork for guest and staff clothing and other outside contracts.
Follow safety procedures and the proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
Maintain a clean and orderly work station.
Keep equipment clean and report any problems.
Assist other positions in the department.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Other Duties:
Stack and count linen.
Empty trash cans in work area, refill water jugs.
Open new linen.
Working Conditions:
Works in an air-conditioned laundry facility.
Noise from washer, dryer and other equipment; lint and dust.
Work around hot equipment such as pressers, dryers and iron.
Work Hours:
Ability to work shift and days designated by Manager during laundry operation hours.
May be scheduled more than 40 hours a week when needed.
Equipment Use:
Ability to use the telephone
Operate pressing equipment, ironers, folding machine, laundry carousel.
Mental and Physical Demands:
Ability to prioritize and organize workload.
Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Push/pull laundry carts weighing more than 50 lbs.
Able to stand and walk during most of shift.
Bend to load/unload laundry carts to run linen through the machines during most of shift.
Hang or remove laundry from carousel.
Communication Demands:
Must have the ability to communicate verbally to employees, department manager and guests/clients.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Must be able to read and count to complete requisitions; read labels on items being laundered
Salary : $20 - $23
