MKR Banquets Waithelp*
Primary Responsibilities: Dress banquet tables, side stations and buffet for functions. Retrieve and serve beverages and food orders to guests tables according to hotel specification and group requirements. Perform services courteously and efficiently. Take beverage, food orders and collect payment where specified. Maintain cleanliness and order of the work area and equipment. Consistently perform tasks as specified on sequence of service standards and SOPs. Recommend the resort’s restaurants and facilities to guests. Able to make wine recommendations. Adhere to applicable liquor laws
Essential Duties:
Dress and clear banquet tables, side stations and buffet area for functions.
Transport perishables and supplies to and from the function area.
Welcome, greet and seat guests in a friendly manner, personalizing the service.
Input all food/beverage orders in the resort’s POS system, present checks and accepts payment.
Follow County regulations and hotel policies in serving alcoholic beverages.
Perform all side duties; make coffee, stock stations, etc.
Able to answer questions regarding menu/wine items and make recommendations or suggestions.
Does table service for plated functions; clear used chinaware, silverware, glassware, etc.
Service guests according to procedures and standards.
Monitor the buffet and refresh beverages, food items, silverware, china and linen.
Decorate and assist in setting up props for banquet room and buffet.
Consistently perform tasks as specified on sequence of service standards and SOPs.
Recognize and appropriately respond to irate patrons; contact manager on potential problems
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Present check to guests and accept and process payment following procedures
Other Duties:
Keep function area clean and orderly; pick up rubbish, wipe up spills, etc.
Pick-up and stock linen and other supplies.
Recommend the resort’s restaurants and facilities to guests.
Suggestive selling and upselling of menu items and wine
Working Conditions:
Indoors in banquet and meeting rooms.
Outdoors in all types of weather.
Function may be noisy, loud entertainment.
Work Hours:
Able to work shift and days determined by the manager
Able to work more than 40 hours per week when needed
Equipment Use:
Proficient in the use the resort’s POS system.

Able to prioritize and organize workload
Able to stand, walk, reach and bend during most of shift.

Able to manage stressful and challenging situations when dealing with irate guests.
Communication Demands:
Able to communicate verbally to employees, managers and guests
Able to communicate over the phone
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Department of Health TB test clearance
Must be pleasant, friendly and smiling
Must be at least 18 years of age if serving or selling alcoholic beverages
Driver’s license if operating company vehicles
Able to read event orders
Must be trained in “responsible alcohol service” within 30 days of hire *
