Position Summary:
The Deputy Director, National Campaigns is a dynamic, strategic leader responsible for supporting the Director, National Campaigns in executing a comprehensive, nationwide 50-State strategy. This role is critical in operationalizing integrated organizing efforts, ensuring cross-departmental alignment, and driving effective grassroots mobilization through both c3 and c4 initiatives. Reporting directly to the Director, the Deputy Director will help translate high-level strategic vision into day-to-day operational excellence, manage key project components, and serve as a trusted liaison between regional teams and executive leadership.

- Monitor key performance indicators and adjust tactics as needed to optimize campaign impact.
- Campaign Coordination and Execution:
- Oversee day-to-day campaign operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and the efficient use of both c3 and c4 resources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including digital outreach, field organizing, communications, policy, and data analytics—to ensure a unified campaign approach.
- Coordinate large-scale initiatives such as Days of Action, mass organizing events, and issue-based calls, ensuring logistical excellence and broad-based community engagement.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Mentor and motivate colleagues and remote teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Assist the Director in recruiting and developing talent to build a high-performing team capable of executing complex, multi-state strategies.
- Grassroots Organizing & Community Engagement:
- Support efforts to activate and mobilize grassroots supporters and community leaders through town halls, rallies, and volunteer-driven initiatives.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with local organizations, influencers, and community stakeholders to expand campaign reach and impact.
- Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Collaborate with the data and analytics team to track engagement metrics, evaluate campaign performance, and refine strategies in real time.
- Prepare regular reports on campaign progress, challenges, and strategic adjustments for senior leadership.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Assist in managing the campaign budget, ensuring resource allocation is both cost-effective and impactful across all states.
- Oversee logistical arrangements including travel, event planning, and coordination of materials, ensuring seamless campaign operations.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between regional and battleground state teams and internal departments, ensuring that all resources within HRC are leveraged to maximize campaign success.
- Represent the Director in meetings, public engagements, and strategic discussions as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, communications, public administration, or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Five to Seven years of experience in large-scale campaign management, political organizing, or a similar leadership role, with a strong emphasis on movement building.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting organizational distributed organizing efforts, and a strong familiarity with effective techniques to build and support such programmatic efforts.
- Exceptional ability to manage volunteers in person and remotely.
- Demonstrated success supporting diverse teams, including remote staff, with a proven track record of professional development and team growth.
- Deep understanding of organizing strategies, voter outreach, and multi-state campaign execution, including experience with both c3 and c4 operations.
- Exceptional strategic planning, project management, and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to evolving political landscapes.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with experience in public speaking and stakeholder engagement.
- Understanding of distributed organizing techniques and an exceptional ability to manage volunteers.
- Fluency in building and creating storytelling moments through digital and earned media tactics
- Proficiency in digital organizing tools, social media strategies, and data analytics to support evidence-based decision making.
