Job description
Behavior Heatlh Technicians will be responsible for providing coverage of the Short-Term Residential component during day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. Basic duties include, but are not limited to, providing care, comfort, and safety of residential clients, monitoring vital signs, documenting client activities during the shift, regular monitoring of clients location and activity schedule, and physical supervision of client within agency guidelines.
Responsibilities:
1. Must maintain confidentiality of all past and present clientele of Human Services, Inc.
2. High school diploma/GED or comparable training, education, experiences, to be able to effectively perform required duties.
3. Must have a telephone.
4. Must have a valid Nebraska drivers license, vehicle, insurance, and be able to meet requirements of agency insurance provider for insurability to operate agency vehicles.
5. Must be properly credentialed or eligible for credentialing within scope of practice or position requirements.
6. If a recovering chemically dependent person, must have a minimum of one (1) year recovery.
7. Working knowledge of addiction, family dynamics, the recovery process, community resources, and the functions and services of community agencies.
8. Must be willing to work flexible hours, evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays when requested.
9. Physical health compatible to bending, lifting (minimum of 25 lbs), and freedom of movement necessary to comply with position.
10. Must be willing to become CPR/First Aid certified through in-house training, if not already certified.
11. Must be willing to submit to a Criminal Background Check and sign authorization for Criminal Background Check to be performed.
12. Must be willing to submit to Drug Testing during orientation phase and thereafter as allowed for in Policies and Procedures.
13. Must have negative tuberculin screen.
Experience:
1. Requires basic working knowledge of chemical abuse issues, the addiction and recovery process, and related support/recovery systems.
2. Good communication (written, oral, listening) skills to provide client information and staff observations within charts and orally.
