As an Authorization Specialist, you play a crucial role in facilitating and managing the authorization process for medical services within a healthcare organization. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that all necessary approvals and documentation are obtained efficiently and accurately to support patient care and financial processes.

Responsibilities:
- Perform prior authorization for new and existing patients.
- Perform new intake eligibility and benefits.
- Facilitate the communication functions of the business office.
- Provide clerical support and excellent customer service, including explaining insurance benefits to clinical staff.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Enter new patients into scheduling system and update to patient information as they occur.
- Communication with clinicians regarding admissions, hospitalizations, discharges, and expirations.
- Perform other duties assigned to meet the goals and objections of our home care operations.
Qualifications:
- Must have high school diploma/GED.
- Must have a minimum of two years' experience in medical prior authorizations.
- Must have experience with EMR and Microsoft office.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and medical terminology.
- Must have a strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurances.
- Must have the ability to multi-task in face paced environment.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and organization skills.
- Must be able to work in group and independent environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm.
Pay: $18-$21 per hour per hour (pay based on experience)
