Description
The Technology Chief Financial Officer (Tech CFO) is responsible for financial leadership of Humana's global Tech operations, including strategy and execution from new project prioritization and planning to ongoing operational run-the-business items for all the Tech spend, supporting the $90 billion enterprise revenue. This role touches every part of the business and is viewed as a terrific entry point that will ignite advancement opportunities beyond the initial role.
Responsibilities
The role ensures the Tech Finance function provides strategic thought partnership on current year and future year financial impacts of decision-making options. The individual will play an integral role in annual prioritization processes that influence $1B in spending, supporting the long-term strategy of the organization and growth ambitions of the business units while ensuring a strong foundation of systems and core infrastructure. This position is responsible for identifying key business and financial trends and developing action plans for effective cost management and efficiency.
Specifically, the Tech CFO will :
- Lead a team of 45 to drive outcomes and accountability for the $3B enterprise IT budget, delivering results and insights balancing short-term and long-term financial planning and growth opportunities.
- Act as a strategy enabler / thought partner to the business around new initiatives and impact.
- Partner with the businesses to understand the controllable levers of IT spending and the associated value.
- Identify and drive value-added, business-building, productivity, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Prepare and present to the CIO on trends and issues, as well as to the Humana CFO and broader Management Team on financial results.
- Produce KPI and balanced scorecard reports.
- Drive executive-level conversations during strategic prioritization conversations in partnership with the corporate strategy team.
- Establish key relationships with executives and develop operational and capital budgets.
- Verify and analyze financial information and technology trends for strategic decision-making.
- Provide oversight and leadership of the Tech contract review team and general accounting team.
Required Qualifications
15 years' progressive financial leadership experience with teams greater than 20 FTEs. Hands-on financial experience in a large-cap operational / business partnering finance capacity, ideally including ownership of corporate functional budgets, such as Technology. Experience in a global finance function or P&L in a Fortune 50 global company. Led through a technology transformation / public cloud migration. History in changing the cost allocation model for a large, complex organization. Exceptional interpersonal skills, business savvy, and passion for creating the new and different.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA / MBA. Preferred location : DC, Boston, Northeast.
