Full-Time Animal Caregiver (must be over 18 years of age, pay D.O.E.)
General Description of Position: An Animal Caregiver is responsible for the care and well-being of the animals in their care. They are responsible for the cleanliness, disinfection and overall appearance of the kennel, cattery, and isolation areas.
Job Requirements/Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds; bend and reach; control large dogs on a leash; work with a variety of cleaning agents, work in an environment with daily changes in climate.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the performance of the daily kennel, cattery, and/or Isolation routines.
- Perform daily sanitation of kennels, cattery and isolation area according to Humane Society of Central Arizona policies and procedures.
- Assure all animals are cared for with food, water, daily exercise and appropriate living conditions.
- Monitor health of animals and report any issues to the Shelter Supervisor.
- Carry out implemented behavior and kennel enrichment programs.
- Assist in conducting behavior assessment and health screening on incoming animals.
- Carry out other duties assigned by the Shelter Supervisor and Executive Director.
