What are the responsibilities and job description for the Thrift Store Associate position at Humane Society of Warren County?
Job Description:
· Operate a cash register and maintain accurate sales receipts
Ability to appropriately open and close the store according to policy and procedure
· Be able to work all backroom aspects of the store - sorting, pricing, tagging and distribution of items to the floor.
· Receives and helps organize donations.
· Requires use of a ladder at times.
· Helps to move furniture from outside sources to the store
· Tests electronic items and places proper stickers.
· Sweep and clean floors when needed.
· Remove trash on a daily basis.
· Clean and maintain public bathrooms on a daily basis.
· Dust and organize shelves as needed
· Assist in training new volunteers pertaining to the operations of the store.
· Greet and serve customers, answer questions and help load purchased items into vehicles.
· Maintain scheduled workdays
Qualifications:
· EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma/GED required.
· Genuine enthusiasm for the success of the HSWC and an ability to communicate that enthusiasm to the community.
· Be in good physical condition and be able to lift and carry a minimum of 30 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
· Must have a positive attitude toward the mission of the HSWC
