About The Role
As the Director of Quality at Humane, you will lead a comprehensive quality organization responsible for delivering exceptional, end-to-end product experiences across hardware, software, and AI pipelines. In this pivotal role, you will oversee Build and Release, Infrastructure, Automation Engineering, and Quality Test Engineering teams, ensuring seamless integration and high-quality standards for all products.
This role requires addressing traditional quality challenges while pioneering scalable, proactive processes for testing and automating non-deterministic systems, including AI-driven products. You will define the strategy to expand quality processes from inception to deployment and align them with Humane's ambitious vision of innovation.
Your leadership will foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence in quality, enabling Humane to scale across multiple product lines and operating systems.
What You Might Do
- Define and implement a forward-thinking quality strategy that integrates hardware, software, and AI pipeline testing, ensuring robust and scalable processes.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team across Build and Release, Infrastructure, Automation Engineering, and Quality Test Engineering, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Develop innovative testing methodologies to address the complexities of AI-driven products, including efficacy and prompt effectiveness for AI pipelines.
- Oversee the creation of test contracts that delegate specific testing responsibilities to development and design teams, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- Standardize bug triage processes, establishing consistent classification and prioritization mechanisms across teams.
- Build tools and frameworks to support automation and testing at scale, enhancing developer productivity and code hygiene.
- Develop quality certification programs for external developers leveraging Humane's SDK, defining interoperability, security, and privacy standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality planning is integrated from inception through deployment, reducing surprises and enhancing delivery outcomes.
- Provide detailed, data-driven insights into product quality and readiness to ship, continually improving quality metrics and processes.
