About the Role
Humane's AI Platform team pioneers innovation across consumer and enterprise applications, leveraging the power of cloud-driven inference and on-device intelligence. As the Senior Engineering Manager of AI Platform, you will lead a highly skilled and collaborative team in building robust systems, including our AI SDK, context management frameworks, advanced personalization strategies, and inference solutions for speech and language models. This role calls for a passion for cutting-edge technologies, an aptitude for solving complex problems, and the ability to design modular, distributed systems that redefine human-computer interaction.
What You'll Do
- Build and lead the AI Platform team, fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing culture.
- Design and implement systems that enable seamless personalization and intelligent agent orchestration across cloud and on-device environments.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party large language models (LLMs) and APIs as they emerge (e.g., Claude, OpenAI Voice API).
- Drive innovation in optimizing latency, balancing trade-offs between on-device and cloud inference for multiple speech and language models.
- Develop and maintain a scalable, high-performance AI SDK tailored to both consumer and enterprise applications.
- Address ambiguous and challenging AI problems, from context management to prompt optimization, for first-of-its-kind usage models.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create novel user experiences and define technical strategies.
