We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by managing and verifying financial transactions within the manufacturing industry.
This position requires a strong knowledge of accounting principles, and the ideal candidate will have experience in collaborating with or managing a team of accountants.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile account balances and bank statements
- Maintain the general ledger and assist in month-end close procedures
- Ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and provide financial analysis
- Identify errors and recommend efficiency improvements
- Offer technical support and guidance to management accountants
- Review and suggest improvements to accounting systems and procedures
- Supervise accounting assistants and junior accountants
- Participate in setting financial standards and forecasting processes
- Contribute to department goal setting
- Prepare financial statements and budgets according to schedule
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns
- Manage internal and external audits to ensure compliance
- Review and assign staff work for accuracy
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes
- Document and develop business processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
- Collaborate with the Financial Manager and Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with a solid understanding of accounting principles
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced skills such as VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
- Experience assisting or managing audits
- Able to work onsite 5 days a week
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
