Role Purpose: A machinist apprentice assists with the setup and operation of a computer numerical control (CNC) machine alongside an experienced machinist. Maintains safety and quality standards, keeps proper documentation, and maintains equipment and supplies to support Humanetics’ business goals and objectives.

Role Purpose: A machinist apprentice assists with the setup and operation of a computer numerical control (CNC) machine alongside an experienced machinist. Maintains safety and quality standards, keeps proper documentation, and maintains equipment and supplies to support Humanetics’ business goals and objectives.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Reads part blueprints and part documentation to understand machining parameters and program; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Operates machine by loading and unloading parts and/or raw material and utilizing machine control panel.
- Adjusts tools attachments as needed to maintain part quality and productivity.
- Maintains specifications by observing operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures, and regulations.
- Documented actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications.
Physical Demands:
- Required to stand for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally required to bend (sandblasting).
- Adequate dexterity for using various hand tools.
- Ability to install and uninstall tools, parts, and fixtures from machines.
- Visual acuity to read directions and prints, and to inspect parts closely to ensure they meet specifications.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
- Physical strength to lift and carry 35 pounds occasionally.
- High school or equivalent
