Role Purpose: To instrument and apply various strain gages by manually cleaning parts, sandblasting, scribing, and applying strain gages using hand tools, a microscope, and applying various gages using adhesives on customer parts at a customer facility.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Able to understand and read engineering drawings, various blueprints, and work instructions.• Prepare parts for gaging using various surface prep methods like sandblasting and manual sanding.• Apply layout and burnish lines by taking measurements using height gages and using scribe tools.• Applying strain gages to prepped surfaces using various epoxies and clamping methods.• Perform testing of gage/wiring installation using visual inspection methods and electrical equipment such as a power supply and multimeter.• Ability to tack weld shim stock metals to parts per engineering drawings.• Interacting with both customers and HITEC Engineers to understand scope of installations.• Up to 50% travel to customer sites.Other Significant Role Requirements:
• Understanding of how to resolve issues independently.• Able to work independently based on customer supplied information and varying types of parts.• Needs to have a flexible work schedule, to insure OTD of our products. • Able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbsCritical Competencies:
• Ability to use small hand tools while using a microscope.• Experience in the electromechanical field is a plus.• Initiative – strives to see projects to completion and acts with a sense of purpose.Education and/or Experience:
• High School diploma or GED• Minimum of 2 year of related experience• Solid experience with Word and Excel required.• SyteLine and/or ERP system experience preferred.
