What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Inspector position at HumanHire?
HumanHire is partnered with a leading manufacturer in Melville in search of a Mechanical Inspector.
The Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for ensuring finished products are fully functional & aesthetically compliant, documenting non-conformances, and maintaining records.
We are seeking candidates with prior Mechanical Inspection or QA/QC experience within industrial manufacturing to join our growing team!
What we offer:
- Position: Mechanical Inspector
- Location: Melville, NY
- Pay: Up to $25/hour (weekly pay)
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7AM-3:30PM (must be able to work OT when needed)

Responsibilities:
- Inspect sheet metal and welded & painted parts to identify defects or deviations from quality standards
- Utilize measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensional accuracy
- Review spec sheets, bill of materials, and AQL to ensure products meet specifications
- Audit production lines to record key production parameters
- Perform pallet inspections and complete final inspection reports
- Organize and maintain inspection documentation within the computer database
- Perform touch-ups as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3 years of prior industrial manufacturing experience required
- Must have basic understanding of sheet metal, welding, and machining processes
- Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, spec sheets, bill of materials, and engineering blueprints required
- Must be capable of lifting 45 pounds and standing/walking for duration of shift
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic understanding of ISO requirements and measuring tools
