We are looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to join our team. This position is a hybrid role. At Humani, our hybrid work model means working primarily remotely, with onsite support at various client sites based on business needs. As such, local and international travel may be required from time to time.
What You Will Do
Client Management:
- Act as the go-to HR business partner for multiple clients, delegating the work to other team members as appropriate.
- Assess clients’ current HR programs and initiatives, and designing an HR Roadmap for all new clients to ensure a successful onboarding experience.
- Deliver on human capital projects related to organizational design, talent management, change management, mergers and acquisitions, HRIS implementations, and more.
- Present clients with a variety of options to consider in achieving their goals and objectives.
- Partner with clients to build HR systems and processes from scratch.
- Demonstrate high levels of technical and professional knowledge and quickly assimilating new knowledge.
- Keep up to date with current developments and trends in human capital consulting and overall HR practices, ensuring the organization meets compliance standards for their jurisdiction.
- Escalate any client issues and concerns, ensuring your manager is appropriately informed.
- Ensure HR agendas are aligned with employment law issues.
- Review HR software and processes, spearheading implementation when necessary.
- Work on client files with more complex compensation projects and data analytics required.
- Manage employee relations issues as they arise, providing coaching and mentorship to management & employees.
- Create and deliver client workshops.
- Continue to develop lasting client relationships to help strengthen and grow existing clients we support.
- On-site HR Support: Support clients with the above-mentioned activities or any other support required in person such as attending team meetings, workplace investigations, inspections, and more.
Operations:
- Manage month-end responsibilities for your portfolio of clients and those that you directly manage such as invoicing review, time entry review, budgets, expense management, and other tasks as required.
- Attend company meetings and participate in other meetings to manage role responsibilities.
Business Development:
- Partner with the manager to bring forth suggestions to expand services with new or existing clients in an effort to grow the account.
- Participate in or lead introduction meetings with prospective clients.
- Participate in the development of new programs and service offerings with new or existing clients.
- Share Humani’s offerings through professional networks (LinkedIn Blog Posts), word of mouth or other mediums as appropriate with the potential to attract new business.
Leadership & Workload Management:
- Provide leadership and day-to-day management HR Generalists, and HR Coordinators that support your clients.
- Manage performance and feedback cycles to maintain a strong culture of high performance with those you work closely with directly or indirectly as it relates to your client deliverables.
- Monitor the workload of the assigned team on the assignment of work to main client budgets and project plans.
- Collaborate with the manager when your workload is over/under to ensure you are working at full capacity and managing timelines for clients.
Reporting & Metrics:
- Work toward the achievement or progress toward set KPIs.
- Maintain relevant business/operations/client trackers with accurate information.
- Identify trends and opportunities for increased operational efficiency and business growth.
Your Skill Set
- A true passion for HR: Experience building HR systems and processes from scratch and keeping an eye out for the latest HR trends and changes to best practices!

- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and ability to make deliverables (documents, PowerPoints, reports, etc.) client-ready.
- Creativity: We’re looking for outside-the-box thinkers! Our HRBPs have the flexibility and creativity to handle any situations that arise while implementing solutions for the client.
- Self-motivation and self-discipline: This is a highly autonomous role where HRBPs work independently supporting clients and must be self-motivated to complete work promptly with minimal oversight. We aren’t just strategic partners – we do the work and give our clients full white glove service.
- HR Compliance: Well-versed in respective Employment legislation, and other relevant regulations (Health and Safety, Pay Equity, Accessibility Act, Worker’s Compensation, etc.).
- Time Management: Self-motivated and the ability to be flexible to meet client needs, and project deadlines.
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyze data, documents, reports, etc., with meticulous attention to detail.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and ability to make deliverables (documents, PowerPoints, reports, etc.) client-ready.
- Organizational skills: clients rely on our team to be very organized and efficient in their approach to solving the client's problem and implementing the solutions.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: our team needs to interact with many of the client's employees at various levels of the organization and must provide exceptional and professional customer service at all times.
- Technology and HR Software: Experience with HR systems & programs including Microsoft Office, Google Drive, HRIS, and Payroll software.
- Project Management: A working knowledge of project and change management principles and best practices is ideal.
Who You Are
- Minimum of 7 years of client-facing human capital consulting experience.
- Minimum of 2 years managing work deliverables within an HR team.
- A minimum of 1 year of full-cycle high-volume (4-6 requisitions at any given time) experience
- A degree or diploma in HR or related field.
- Professional HR designation (CHRP) is an asset or working towards a similar designation
- Experience managing team members on multiple projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to adapt messaging and style to suit the needs of different audiences.
- Strong facilitation skills, including the ability to design meeting and workshop agendas to build commitment to outcomes and drive decision-making.
- Strong aptitude to assimilate to new technology. Excellent spreadsheet and presentation-making capabilities are a must. We use the Google family of products (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides), but experience with these particular products is not necessary as long as you can seamlessly transition to them from other similar products you may have used (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Total compensation up to $99,000 - $121,00 annually, a combination of base salary ($90,000 - $110,000) and annual performance-based bonuses.
