Requirements
Must be able to communicate in Spanish and English
Current CPR certification
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role
Knowledge of patient assessment techniques and dental procedures
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
Proficiency in dental practice management software
Dental Assistant Certification
A high level of professionalism
Graduated of an approved dental assisting program with expanded duty functions
Ability to be multitask and prioritize
Previous experience with elderly care helpful
Must have patience to deal and work with elderly and/or patients with disabilities
Ability to handle patients' requests, concerns and complaints
Work well under stressful conditions and treat patients with respect and dignity
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Understanding of patients' rights and responsibilities
Able to write, read and speak clearly
Capable to demonstrate empathy
Capable of managing difficult or emotional customer situations by responding promptly to members needs and requests
Must exhibit good active listening and comprehension skills

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The following duties are illustrative and not exhaustive.
- Prepares patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
- Selects and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
- Manages infection control - prepares and sterilizes instruments and equipment
- Assists the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
- Provides oral hygiene care instructions
- Educates patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health
- Performs various office tasks as necessary
- Helps the office and Dentist with daily operations as needed
- Keeps the dental room clean and well-stocked
- Knowledge of Scheduling appointments
- Maintains accurate patient records
- Takes and develops dental x-rays
- Performs basic dental procedures
- Maintains accurate patient records
- Other duties as assigned

- Work in a well-lighted, clean environment
- Fast Paced environment
- Able to be as quick as the dentist, anticipating their needs during exams and different procedures to keep procedures running smoothly
