Position Overview

The Dental Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dental clinic, ensuring the delivery of high-quality dental care to patients. This role involves supervising both clinical and administrative tasks, coordinating patient care, and maintaining compliance with health regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of dental practices, and a commitment to patient-centered care. The Dental Office Supervisor works closely with all members of the Management Team and others to ensure that his/her responsibilities are effectively and consistently discharged. Supervises all department to ensure that policies, procedures, and guidelines are followed by every employee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Supervise and support the dental team, including dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants. Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Acknowledge and greet the patients/visitors with a great smile upon their arrival to the Medical Center and Dental department, or as immediately seen.
  • Interviewing and select new staff at the dental department.
  • Work with other departments to ensure the team is informed about new policies, procedures, and health law
  • Oversees the coordination of all services offered to patients at their unit.
  • Identifies potential critical situations and initiates immediate action.
  • HEDIS measurement compliance and follow through accordingly.
  • Reviews and coordinates the workflow for all reports to meet CMS compliance requirements.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage clinic schedules, coordinate patient appointments, and ensure that patient records are accurately maintained. Handle billing, and inventory management.
  • Assures confidentiality of information pertaining to patients, staff, and facility business.
  • Ensure all staff licenses and certifications are up to date and send copies to Human Resources.
  • Compliance: Ensure that the clinic adheres to all relevant health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols. Maintain compliance with state and federal dental regulations.
  • Patient Care: Promote a patient-centered environment by addressing patient concerns, improving patient satisfaction, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Quality Improvement: Implement and monitor quality control measures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of dental services. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure inventory is maintained.
  • Reviews bi-weekly payroll for the team.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge on Open Dental software preferred but not required. Knowledge of dental insurance, and referral coordinating a must.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a dental practice, with a supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Public Health Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in dental software and electronic health records.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of dental procedures, equipment, and best practices. Familiarity with health regulations and compliance standards.
  • Bilingual a Must (Spanish & English).
  • Strong background in dealing with the public a must.
Working Conditions

The Dental Supervisor typically works in a clinical environment, with responsibilities requiring administrative office work. The role may involve occasional long hours and the need to respond to urgent situations.



Salary : $45,000 - $60,000
