About us
Humble Design serves individuals, families and veterans emerging from homelessness by transforming their empty house into a fully furnished home. We serve the tri-county metro Detroit area from our warehouse located in Southfield where we accept donations of gently used home furnishings from the community. We utilize those donated goods to create personalized home designs for our clients which in turn fosters a sense of dignity and pride in their home.
Our movers are the muscle of our organization. We could not do what we do without them! Movers will be responsible for placing furniture into our clients' homes on 'deco days' where we fully furnish a home three days per week. The mover is responsible for picking up furniture donations from donor homes on non deco days as well as assisting the Warehouse Manager with day-to-day tasks in the warehouse as needed.
Overall duties include but are not limited to the following:
- loading and unloading of furniture by hand or by use of dolly
- delivering furniture to client homes on deco day
- assists with assembly of furniture as needed
- drive to donor homes on pickup route to load donations and bring back to warehouse
- assist with keeping warehouse inventory organized
- ability to lift heavy furniture five days a week
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
