Full Time Head Cook for Springvale Independent Living. 6AM - 2:30 PM, 80 hours/pay period, every other weekend, every other holiday.
Full Time benefits: IPERS, Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and Long Term Disability. PTO and Sick time accrual begins first day of employment. Shift differential for weekend shift.
Job Title: Head Cook - Springvale Independent Living
Primary Function and Relationship to Total Organization
Responsible for creating menus, ordering, organizing kitchen, cleaning kitchen, and making home cooked meals for the residents of Springvale Independent Living. Provides an atmosphere in which residents are fulfilled and thriving.
Reports to: Springvale Independent Living Manager
Supervises: N/A
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Opening up the kitchen and dining room each morning
- Getting breakfast items out for residents
- Checking all temps (dishwasher/refrigerators, freezers)
- Noon meal preparation for approximately 50 residents
- Assist in serving the noon meal
- Ordering and maintaining food and supplies
- Menu planning
- Assist with cleaning responsibilities
- Exceptional people skills
- Demonstrates cheerful attitude toward residents, family members, and visitors
- Ability to work well with other staff members
- Flexibility in work schedule and duties
- Functions within a budget
- Perform other duties as required by the position or as assigned

Minimum educational requirements
High School diploma required. ServSafe certification preferred or must be willing to obtain. Successful completion of BCLS within 3 months of hire.
