Title: Registered Sonographer specializing in both Echocardiograms & Vascular studies.
Under general supervision, performs professional duties in the application of cardiovascular sonography. Balances patient interaction and technological performance with a firm knowledge in anatomy and pathology and working cohesively with a healthcare team. Demonstrates proficiency and attention to detail.

Cardiovascular Job Duties:
- Ability to perform various cardiovascular studies to include echocardiograms and other vascular studies. in the department or at the patient’s bedside.
- Properly identifies correct patient for requested examination using two forms of identification, patient name and date of birth.
- Completes consent forms and worksheets as required.
- Adheres to patient confidentiality
- Works closely with the radiologist and other licensed physicians presenting images and data for interpretation and assisting with interventional procedures.
- Performs technical skills to the radiologist standards
- Ensures operation of ultrasound equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment, and performing quality assurance test as recommended.
- Maintains supplies by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements maintaining proper licensing.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
- Transports and prepares patients as needed.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; ensures room cleanliness, administering first aid and activating codes when necessary.

- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records, obtains patient examination history, unusual conditions, limitations, and correlates procedure charge with procedure performed.

Education, Experience, and Training/License(s)/Certification(s)
Must have successfully completed an accredited ultrasound program or on-the-job training and registry eligible if not already registered.
Must be registered as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI) to perform Echocardiograms and/or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) for vascular studies and registry eligible.
Experience
Two (2) years of experience is preferred
