This position is for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year only
Qualifications Profile :
Must meet the following requirements which include :
High school diploma in addition to one of the following :
Associate's degree
2 years of college (48 semester credits)
Pass the PRAXIS Paraprofessional test
Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives, and to free certified professional employees from non-professional duties such as proctoring study halls to enable them to make a contribution to other aspects of the educational program, such as curriculum development.
Essential Job Functions
Bi-Lingual in the Spanish and English languages
Ability to read and write documentation in the Spanish and English languages
Ability to speak fluently in the Spanish and English languages
Ability to interpret during parent / teacher conferences
Ability to work one-on-one with students, parents and staff members
Willingness to be trained to assist with the WIDA testing program
Ability to assist with the instruction of ELL students in traditional classroom settings
Additional Duties :
Assist guidance, pupil services staff or building administration, as needed.
Perform any other related duties as assigned.
