Description
POSITION SUMMARY Pharmacy Technician means a person who performs technical services in a pharmacy under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and is registered with the Board of Pharmacy pursuant to NAC 639.240. This position requires the employee to order and receive pharmaceuticals, store said pharmaceuticals and further distribute said pharmaceuticals to the automatic dispensing cabinets (ADCs). The Certified Pharmacy Technician will also be called upon to perform sterile compounding, maintain Nevada State Board of Pharmacy licensure and complete the necessary continuing education (CE) credits. Ultimately, the pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist in the day-to-day needs of the hospital through drug distribution, preparation, and quality measures such as medication expiration monitoring and proper documentation as well as performing minor maintenance and troubleshooting the ADCs as needed.
