Position Summary:
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides technology vision and leadership in the development and implementation of information technology programs. The CIO leads the healthcare network in planning and implementing information systems to support clinical and business operations and achieve more efficient and cost beneficial IT operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the information and technology systems for the Hospital.
- Establishes IT policies and standards.
- Develops and recommends information technology goals, objectives, and priorities.
- Ensures systems and procedures lead to outcomes in line with the business goals.
- Facilitates communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within the organization.
- Develops, maintains, and implements programming standards, quality control procedures, security strategy and procedures, and related processes to ensure that all information technologies comply with mandated and regulatory standards.
- Oversees and manages multiple information and communication systems projects.
- Oversees the design, implementation, and evaluation of systems that support end users in the productive use of computer hardware and software.
- Selects, trains and supervises subordinate staff. Reviews staff work plans, assigns work activities, meets with staff to identify and resolve problems, and initiates and implements disciplinary procedures as necessary.
- Create business value through technology.
- Oversee the development of customer service platforms.
- Approves vendor negotiations and IT architecture.
- Oversees Information risk management (IRM).
- Develops and approves technology futures and budgets.
- Oversees Social Media platforms.
Requirements:
- Three or more years of executive level experience
- Minimum of five years of experience in healthcare field
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology is required. Master’s degree in information technology preferred
