Position Summary:
This role is responsible for providing safe, effective, fun and engaging group fitness classes for members and guests. Seeking instructors certified to offer spin, Pilates, yoga, bootcamps, kickboxing, aqua aerobics, dance and more
Primary Duties:
- Teach group fitness classes as scheduled, providing modifications for participants as needed.
- Understand contraindicated exercises to allow for a safe environment for various levels of abilities.
- Maintain industry certification in good standing and any continuing education required.
- Ensure to arrive on site with time to set up for class and time to pick up equipment and tidy the studio/Wellness Center area used after class.
- Report any equipment needs, equipment repairs required, to the Fitness Manager.
- Report participant numbers after each class to the Fitness Manager.
- Stay on schedule by avoiding missed classes and seek substitute instructors in advance.
- Provide a fun and engaging experience for members.
- Complete knowledge of all Wellness Center safety protocols and confidence communicating via radio/overhead and with EMS as needed.
Position Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED required
- CPR/AED certification is required
- Minimum of two years teaching group fitness required
- Appropriate credentialing for the classes being taught
- Be dependable, alert, and able to interact with members and guests in a positive manner
- Maintain composure and act appropriately in moments when multiple unexpected challenges arise concurrently
- Maintain good health and physical strength, remaining on your feet for most of the workday, and capable of working without physical restrictions
- Possess a passion for fitness, health, athletics, and wellness. Enthusiastic, professional, and genuine demeanor
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and some holidays
