Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Construction Accountant to oversee the financial management of multiple construction projects. The role involves creating detailed budgets, managing supplier contracts, analyzing production costs, and verifying invoice statements for two construction companies. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, exceptional accounting skills, and the ability to minimize production costs through efficient financial oversight.
Responsibilities
Develop, refine, and implement accounting procedures.
Manage inventory using QuickBooks and Builder Trend .
Collaborate with project managers to create cost-effective budgets for concrete foundation and framing projects.
Oversee accounting tasks throughout the project lifecycle, including cash flow estimates and purchase order approvals.
Analyze transactions and adjust budgets to account for unforeseen costs.
Maintain comprehensive project financial records for audits and tax filings.
Prepare cost analyses by interpreting financial data.
Identify and report financial risks and budget discrepancies to management.
Research market trends and price fluctuations in construction materials.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in construction accounting.
Reconcile monthly inventories and collaborate with the CPA for month-end closings and financial statements.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting , Finance , or a related field.
Certification in construction accounting is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in private or public accounting.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Builder Trend .
Strong knowledge of construction cost accounting and financial procedures.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Must-Have Qualifications
