Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Engineer to join our client in Addison, TX. This role requires proven technical expertise in implementing automation solutions using PLC , HMI , SCADA , and DCS / DeltaV platforms. The selected candidate will work directly with customers, lead a team of engineers, and oversee the entire automation solution lifecycle - from requirements gathering to commissioning and qualification.
This leadership position requires strong problem-solving abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, business efficiency acumen, and a passion for building client partnerships. The Senior Control Engineer will play a key role in securing repeat business and driving customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and lead automation solutions independently or as part of a team.
Develop control system architecture, component selection, schematic diagrams, and system documentation.
Program PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, Modicon) and DCS / DeltaV systems using Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, and Structured Text.
Develop HMI / SCADA systems using platforms like FactoryTalk , Aveva System Platform , Inductive Automation Ignition , and Siemens WinCC .
Design and implement industrial networks using Ethernet / IP , Profinet , and Modbus protocols.
Manage projects, including developing project execution plans, budgets, schedules, and financial tracking.
Lead teams of engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and mentoring.
Oversee project operations up to $10M, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
Collaborate with clients to identify requirements, develop specifications, and commission solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve automation system issues.
Travel up to 25% (primarily local to Dallas).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Control Engineering , Mechanical Engineering , Chemical Engineering , Computer Science , or equivalent experience.
Minimum 8 years of experience in automation engineering.
Expertise in Emerson DeltaV , Rockwell Automation , Siemens , and Modicon platforms.
Experience with PLC-5 to ControlLogix conversions .
Proficiency in HMI / SCADA platforms such as FactoryTalk , Aveva System Platform , Ignition , and WinCC .
Knowledge of Batch / Recipe Management , OEE , MES , and ERP systems.
Project management experience (PMP certification is a plus).
Experience designing electrical schematics, control panels, and power distribution systems under 480VAC .
Proficiency with AutoCAD is preferred.
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
