Description
The Life Insurance Specialist is responsible for the administration, marketing, service, and sale of life insurance products, and will provide additional service and support to changing existing client’s life insurance coverages.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develops a marketing strategy and works closely with our Marketing team and Financial Advisor team to seek new prospects via direct mail, social media, group presentations, promotions, and other methods.
- Consults with existing and prospective clients to assess insurance needs, budget, financial planning goals, and other relevant details.
- Provides rate quotes and coverage recommendations; assists with long-term planning.
- Assists with completion of application and other necessary paperwork; obtains underwriting approval.
- Delivers policy and plan documents to the clients for review and signatures.
- Follows up with clients on a periodic basis to assess financial, family, and other changes that may warrant modification of coverage.
- Work with existing policy holders to review, renew, and convert term life policies.
- Maintains RedTail client database with accurate up-to-date information and documentation of life prospects/clients and expirations dates.
- Facilitates distributions to beneficiaries as directed on the death of the policyholder.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
- Strong sales and marketing acumen.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to relate to clients.
- Ability to clearly explain complex insurance policies and packages.
- Ability to provide comfort to beneficiaries after the death of a loved one.
- Working knowledge of computer software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to use general office equipment, including a computer, copier, and telephone systems.
- Ability to learn and perform new duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to travel offsite as needed.
Education or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Some sales experience, particularly in insurance, is highly preferred.
- Requires possession and maintenance of a Life and Health license.
- Must have a current driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
Working Environment/ Physical Activities
- General office work environment.
- Requires regular use of arms, hands, and fingers.
- Frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, reach with arm and hands, stand, walk, stoop, talk and hear.
- Required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
