With a rich legacy spanning 4 generations, Hummel has been a trusted name in the commercial printing and mailing industry. We are currently seeking a part-time PrePress Operator to join our highly skilled team of professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Pre-flight customer-supplied files to ensure the most accurate reproduction based on customer's expectations
- Adjustment of files, including managing ink separations, trapping & imposing files for press; calculating creep & spine sizes; accounting for page layouts, overlap, folds, panels, trims, bleed, gripper; adding crop marks & color bars
- Output digital files to make proofs for customers & plates for press
Expectations:
- Clear knowledge of offset and digital printing
- Minimum 3 years of printing/graphics experience
- Knowledge of Heidelberg Prinect and Signa software is a plus
- Excellent color management skills & the ability to work with different digital file formats (PDF, EPS, TIFF)
- The ability to communicate professionally with customers in order to resolve issues & secure proof approval for press
- The ability to coordinate with other managers/departments concerning schedules & deadlines in order to ensure a smooth workflow
