What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Behavior Consultant of ABA (ABC-ABA) position at HUMMINGBIRD ABA THERAPY LLC?
An ABC provides one-to-one behavioral health interventions to children and adolescents between the ages of 2-21 years old who are diagnosed with a qualifying disability, typically autism spectrum disorder.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides face-to-face behavioral interventions and implements Individualized Treatment Plans (ITP).
- Provides support to parents, teachers, and community individuals as described in ITP.
- Delivers and models treatment interventions and consequences for inappropriate actions as agreed upon.
- Provides positive reinforcement to the clients and families.
- Communicates with peers and co-workers and exchanges information which is important in achieving the individual goals for the clients.
- Adheres to professional boundaries with all clients and families.
- Provides culturally aware and competent service provision.
- Completes 20 hours of training per company requirements and guidelines and state regulatory standards.

TRAVEL
- This position requires travel up to 30% of the time with clients being no more than 1 hour from staff’s home, unless specifically agreed upon. Travel between clients is paid, but travel to/from a client to/from your home is not per IRS standards.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
Assistant Behavior Consultants shall meet one of the following prior to starting the position:
- Have a minimum of 6 months of experience providing ABA services and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education or related field and a minimum of 12 credits in ABA.
- Have qualifications for licensure as a behavior specialist except the experience requirements (Masters degree and Functional Behavior Assessment trainings completed).
- Have active certification as a BCaBA through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
- For those who do not meet the requirements above, you may apply to an open position for a Behavioral Health Technician, which does not require any university coursework in ABA or board certification.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Clearances
- Must have reliable transportation to/from client locations
