RN Supervisor/Charge Nurse

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Charge Nurse will play a critical role in overseeing patient care, managing nursing staff, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a compassionate approach to patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience in various nursing specialties, including ophthalmology, dementia care, and pediatrics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff to ensure effective patient care delivery.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' needs and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV insertion and infusion.
• Provide direct patient care, particularly in specialized areas such as ophthalmology or PICU as needed.
• Monitor patients' progress and respond promptly to changes in their condition.
• Educate patients and their families about health management and disease prevention strategies.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain accurate patient records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Support staff development through mentoring and training opportunities.

Requirements

• Valid nursing license in the state of practice.
• Proven experience in patient care settings; experience in assisted living or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of basic life support (BLS) protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Familiarity with dementia care practices is a plus.
• Commitment to providing compassionate care while ensuring the safety and well-being of all patients.

Pay: From $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
