DIESEL MECHANIC

Are you an experienced Diesel Mechanic looking for your next adventure? Join our team at Icy Strait Point and work in a dynamic environment maintaining vehicles and diesel engines in a breathtaking remote location.

As a Diesel Mechanic, you’ll diagnose and repair motor vehicles and diesel engines, including site equipment like generators. You’ll carry out routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the functionality of critical equipment while collaborating with a supportive team.

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles and machinery
• Communicate with department heads and fleet coordinators about vehicle needs
• Perform routine maintenance and provide safety inspections
• Maintain accurate records of work performed
• Keep tools and garage areas safe and clean
• Adhere to company safety policies
• Other related duties as assigned

• In-depth knowledge of vehicle and diesel engine repair
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Diesel certification
• Vocational/technical training or apprenticeship (preferred)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience (preferred)

• Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in noisy environments with various odors
• Must be willing to live in a remote, rural community
• Ability to travel by small plane or ferry
• Able to work outdoors on gravel roads in various weather conditions
