Sales Specialist
Reports to: Tour Sales Supervisor
Category: Seasonal (April - October in Hoonah, Alaska)
Compensation: DOE, plus bonus and commission potential
Icy Strait Point is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Sales Specialist to sell tours and ensure guests have an exceptional experience. If you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and enjoy working with people from all over the world, this position is for you!
What You’ll Do:- Support the Tour Sales Supervisor in overseeing daily tour sales operations.
- Lead by example to deliver excellent customer service to all Icy Strait Point guests.
- Assist guests with booking tours and provide detailed information about available excursions.
- Coordinate guest orientations, including line control and tour preparations.
- Monitor and address guest feedback to ensure satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with team members, tour guides, drivers, and management.
- Assist with promotional activities, including distributing literature and selling merchandise.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Experience in customer service, sales, or a related field.
- A willingness to learn about Tlingit culture and incorporate it into guest interactions.
- Knowledge of local wildlife, plants, and landmarks (preferred).
- Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- A commitment to safety and attention to detail.
- Must be 18 years or older and eligible for a safety-sensitive position.
- Willing to live and work in a remote, rural community.
- Comfortable traveling by small plane or ferry to and from a remote location.
- Able to work on gravel roads and in various weather conditions.
- Capable of moderate physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
