Duties
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and sushi preparation area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure freshness and availability.
- Stay updated on current trends in the food industry to introduce innovative sushi dishes that enhance the menu offerings.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and best practices for food handling.
- Assist in catering events as needed, showcasing sushi as part of the overall culinary experience.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role within the food service or restaurant industry.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, particularly in sushi making, along with an understanding of Japanese cuisine.
- Familiarity with fine dining standards and practices is highly desirable.
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail when preparing ingredients.
