Title: Summer EBT Mail Clerk
Supervisor: Senior Program Specialist, Summer EBT
Status: Hourly, Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Location: In Office (Tulsa, OK)
Pay: $18.50/hour

OVERVIEW

Hunger Free Oklahoma is partnering with several Tribes in offering Summer EBT to eligible native and non-native students attending school within their service areas. Summer EBT is a federal program that provides benefits to buy groceries to qualifying families with school-aged children when schools are closed for the summer. This position will handle returned mail by sorting, organizing and remailing it, ensuring accurate processing and delivery.

ABOUT HUNGER FREE OKLAHOMA

Hunger Free Oklahoma is a statewide nonprofit established to leverage the power of collaboration to solve hunger in Oklahoma by improving systems, policies, and practices, facilitating public/private partnerships, and providing backbone support to existing organizations addressing hunger.

HFO’s Summer EBT Program provides backbone, technology, administrative, and customer services support to Tribal program administrators to increase capacity and maximize the number of eligible children participating in Summer EBT.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Summer EBT Mail Clerk reports directly to the Summer EBT Sr Program Specialist and is responsible for processing and organizing incoming and outgoing mail in a fast-paced environment. The core of your work will be:

  • Mail Processing & Sorting: You will process and sort up to 800 pieces of mail per day as a team, ensuring that all items are accurately categorized and handled according to the established guidelines.
  • Mail Organizing & Filing: You will systematically organize, sort, and file all incoming and outgoing mail to ensure easy access and retrieval when needed. This includes labeling, categorizing, and maintaining an organized pre-set filing system for both physical and digital records.
  • Data Entry: You will accurately enter mail and customer information into CRM software, maintaining up to date records for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Customer Service: You will ensure prompt and high-quality customer service.

WHO YOU ARE
To qualify for this job, you will:

  • Have a high school diploma, or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills with experience in Salesforce (or willingness to learn)
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks with accuracy
  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to provide high-quality customer service and assist with inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Have mailroom experience, handling large volumes of physical materials (preferred)

The mailroom operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM in the office. This is an in-person position that requires a reliable commute to the workplace. Hunger Free Oklahoma provides the necessary equipment for the role.
