Description
As a key member of our Accounting Solutions Team, this Senior Accountant position will have opportunities to participate in providing a variety of services to our business, governmental, and non-profit clients. The primary day-to-day responsibilities involve providing accounting support to organizations in the greater West Michigan area. This will include a keen ability to meet deadlines, be proactive, and provide consistent communication with clients and team members. Team members are provided with a clear path for career development and support to achieve goals.
Responsibilities
- Financial statement analysis, reconciliation, and oversight
- Construct applicable financial statement support schedules
- Check financial statements or errors in reporting and make recommendations for corrections
- Financial statement preparation
- Assist with external financial statement audit support
- Budget and forecast preparation
- Payroll processing and tax reporting and oversight
- Sales and use tax reporting and oversight
- Manage client and team expectations, budgets, and deadlines
- Provide technical assistance to clients and internal staff
- Training and mentorship of other staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years relevant accounting experience
- Public accounting experience highly preferred
- Has or intent on pursuing advanced degree or certification (ex. CPA, CMA, or MBA)
- Experience in QuickBooks, Intacct, or NetSuite preferred

- Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)

- Ability to work overtime to meet client and firm needs
